The Green Bay Packers put a hurting on New York Giants with this score (38-13) on Sunday.
Beckham had four catches for 28 yards on 11 targets, dropping several passes in the loss. But he was quick to dismiss any notion that the time he and several teammates spent on their off day had any impact on his play or the outcome of the game.
“There was nothing that could connect seven days ago to today and how we came out and played and executed,” Beckham said. “There’s just nothing in the world. That’s not realistic.”
“I think it did a great job of creating distractions for us, and it’s just unfortunate for us. That’s just the way this world is.”
Giants coach Ben McAdoo criticized Beckham’s ball skills on Sunday but shared his star wide receiver’s view of the Miami trip.
“It didn’t have anything to do with the ball game,” McAdoo said.
The exit served as a disappointing to finish to a season in which the Giants were tied for the second-most wins in the NFC.
“It sucks. There’s no way to put it,” Beckham said. “It sucks. It’s a horrible feeling.”
