A few days ago DMX owes $1.7 million in taxes and has engaged in a multi-year scheme to conceal millions of dollars of income from the Internal Revenue Service.
Prosecutors say Simmons raked in millions from his songs, including the 2003 hit “X Gon’ Give it to Ya,” and avoided paying taxes by setting up accounts in other’s names and paying personal expenses largely in cash.
DMX posts bail.
Nicholas Biase, a spokesman for the U.S. District Attorney’s Office, tells TMZ … the rapper pled not guilty to 14 counts of tax evasion. He needed 2 co-signers to pony up the bail. DMX has been slapped with travel restrictions that will require him to stay close to home … in the NYC area. He’ll also be under strict drug testing, and can’t carry any firearms while on bail.
