Earlier this month, Surveillance video shows that tennis superstar Venus Williams “lawfully” entered the intersection where she was involved in a car crash that killed a 78-year-old man, police said Friday.
“Based on the evidence obtained in the ongoing investigation, it has been determined the vehicle driven by Venus Williams lawfully entered the intersection on a circular green traffic signal, and attempted to travel north through the intersection to BallenIsles Drive,”
It is not enough for the victim’s family.
According to Daily Mail, Venus Williams is fighting the demand for phone records that could show she wasn’t paying attention in the seconds before killing a Florida retiree in a horrific car crash, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Attorneys for the family of 78-year-old Jerome Barson have requested details of the tennis star’s calls and texts in case she was distracted.
They say security camera footage shows Williams moving her hand towards her face in the moments before the June 9 collision – and they want to know if she was using a cellphone.
However, new legal documents obtained by DailyMail.com reveal the losing Wimbledon finalist is opposing the ‘notice of production’ served on T-Mobile.
