Philando Castile’s jailed father fights for part of $3 million settlement.

Back in June, Jeronimo Yanez, the Minnesota police officer who fatally shot Philando Castile during a traffic stop last year, was found not guilty of second-degree manslaughter Friday.

He also was acquitted of two counts of intentional discharge of firearm that endangers safety.
According to reports, Philando Castile’s father, who is serving a life term in federal prison, is fighting for a portion of the $3 million settlement reached in the fatal shooting of his son.A Hennepin County judge Wednesday said she was likely to approve Valerie Castile’s proposal to receive the funds in their entirety after her legal team is paid, the Star Tribune reported.
